State Of The Heart State of the Heart

Ya know,I believe there are two kinds of folks
They always see two different things
While one of them laughs at the puppet show
The other one looks for the strings

Maybe one's wrong or maybe one's right
Maybe one just doesn't know
That Jesus said, "Come unto me as a child"
And children enjoy puppet shows

It's a state of the heart
It's the faith to believe
We can see who we are
In the faces we see
Are they friend, are they foe
Is it truth or is it lies
It's just a matter of who
Is residing inside

We've come through the battles, we've played all the games
So many memories to bear
But if all of our scars and fears carry names
Maybe we're really still there

It's a state of the heart
It's the faith to be free
We can see where we are
By the world that we see
Are they friend, are they foe
Is it truth or is it lies
It's just a matter of who
Is residing inside

Ya know I could own everything on this earth
I could own all the mountains and trees
If I could buy you for what you think you're worth
And sell you for what God sees

It's a state of the heart
It's the faith to believe
If we're near or we're far
Changes what we perceive
Are they friend, are they foe
Is it truth or is it lies
It's just a matter of who
Is residing inside
